In a heartfelt tribute to women who have overcome extraordinary odds, Kolkata Knight Riders launched the Shahoshi Rani initiative, a celebration of resilience, transformation, and the unwavering spirit of courage.
The Shahoshi Rani initiative by Kolkata Knight Riders has created a meaningful and far-reaching impact, both on-ground and online. Through sustained CSR programs, it has directly empowered over 130 women with financial independence, supported 60 girls through football and mental health initiatives, coached 70 children in care homes, and enabled 22 tribal girls to teach 692 first-generation learners in remote villages. The campaign also sparked a massive digital movement — garnering over 11 million views and 600,000+ engagements across social media. By blending grassroots impact with powerful storytelling, Shahoshi Rani has become a true celebration of courage, resilience, and collective empowerment.

The campaign spotlights women who have been empowered through KKR’s sustained CSR efforts, standing tall as living embodiments of the team’s core philosophy: Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo. These brave women were placed at the heart of a stirring campaign film, which was unveiled at the prestigious Knight Golf 2025 event in the presence of KKR CEO Mr. Venky Mysore, team captain Ajinkya Rahane, and mentor DJ Bravo. The film resonated deeply, capturing stories of strength, hope, and the journey towards reclaiming dignity.
Taking the celebration beyond the screen, 40 remarkable women were invited to Eden Gardens for a special training session where KKR players and support staff wore jerseys featuring their names. The women not only witnessed the practice but also interacted with players and KKR co-owner Juhi Chawla, long-time champion of women empowerment and environmental advocacy. In an emotional moment, some players even gifted their personalized jerseys to the Shahoshi Ranis.
Adding a fan-centric layer to the initiative, a Shahoshi Rani photobooth at Eden Gardens encouraged supporters to celebrate their own moments of courage, sharing them across social media and widening the impact of the campaign.
Shahoshi Rani isn’t just a campaign. It’s a movement, a tribute to the strength of women and KKR’s continued commitment to creating real, lasting social impact.
