It’s always a special moment to make your debut in any format of the game. Englishman Harry Gurney was handed his maiden VIVO IPL appearance against Rajasthan Royals on a wicket that was perfect to showcase his skills.

He bagged the Man of the Match award for a brilliant spell of 2/25 from his 4 overs. He faced the media post the game, here are the excerpts from his post match press conference:

Q. How do you feel after making your debut?
HG:
This is the best T20 (IPL) competition in the world, I had a few butterflies at the team hotel in the afternoon when I found out that I was going to be playing. I always get nervous before my first game in any competition, it was my IPL debut so nice to get a decent performance under the belt and I am already looking forward to the remaining games in the competition.

Q. What did you make of the pitch?
HG:
At the first thought, the pitch looked quite dry. So, quite early on in my spell, in my first couple of balls itself, I bowled the cutters. So, for the rest of my spell, majority of my balls were going to be cutters and thankfully, the ball gripped and it worked well for me.

Q. Your take on the game?
HG:
The more experience you can get round the world by playing against the best players, the better you get. Certainly, with today’s win, the team’s in a good mood as well.
