Knight Riders, bet you will not forget the evening of 07-04-2017 for a long, long time!

After all, very rarely do you see a batting display of the kind that Chris Lynn and Gautam Gambhir exhibited against Gujarat Lions at Rajkot.

It was a night when records were hit for a six, quite literally.

Speaking to KKR.IN after the game regarding his blitzkrieg unbeaten 93 in 41 balls, Man-of-the-Moment Lynn had just one wish in mind.

“There are quality bowlers around but I just try to be very proactive with my approach and take them head on. It came off tonight. Hopefully I can double up and repeat this act in Mumbai too (against Mumbai Indians on 9 April, 2017),” he mentioned.

Having been part of the KKR franchise since 2014, the Brisbane-based batsman had only appeared in four matches over three seasons. Now, presented with the opportunity of batting at top of the order, Lynn is determined to make it count.

“You got to take every opportunity. I wanted to make the coach and captain proud with my show. Think I did that pretty well tonight,” the 26-year-old said.

Having created a new opening partnership IPL record with our skipper, Lynn is now looking forward to batting alongside Gambhir for the rest of tournament.

“It’s pretty satisfying to bat with the captain. We gelled together easily. It’s always satisfying to get a big partnership right at the beginning of the competition. It builds a lot of confidence and helps you grab that momentum,” Lynn concluded.
