Rohit's double hundred and Kuldeep's magic: What unfolded the last time India and Sri Lanka met in an ODI series

The young Indian contingent for the white-ball format will be up against Sri Lanka in the first of the three One-day Internationals at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo starting on 18th July.

The two sides have not featured in a bilateral series in the recent past. In fact, the last time they met in an ODI series was back in December 2017.

Around 1400 meters above sea level, India locked horns with Sri Lanka in the first of the three-match ODI series at the picturesque HPCA stadium in Dharamshala on 10th December. However, a dismal batting performance in the first match resulted in the Indian team dismissed for 112 runs leading to an eight-wicket defeat.

The next fixture at Mohali witnessed a historic double hundred by the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma. The opening batsman smashed 208 off 153 balls to power the home team to a 141 run victory.

With the series levelled 1-1, Shikhar Dhawan's unbeaten century (100*) laid a solid foundation for India's run chase in Vishakhapatnam after Kuldeep Yadav's three wickets helped India restrict Sri Lanka for 215. His wickets included Upul Tharanga, Niroshan Dickwella and Akila Dananjaya.
