Siddhesh Lad hasn’t had much of an experience in IPL yet, playing just one match so far for Mumbai Indians last year. But his moderately vast experience in domestic cricket raised his stake in IPL. Siddhesh, from his younger days in the domestic arena, has been known for his tenacity and steady temperament.
Siddhesh made his first-class debut in November 2013. Often batting under pressure situations with the lower middle order, he has often risen to the occasion and hence is also known as Mumbai’s ‘crisis man’. His healthy batting average (40.58 in the First Class and 43.23 in List A) in domestic cricket goes on to underline his reliability.
Lad also has a knack of taking wickets with his part-time off-spin. In the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he was seen picking up three important wickets against UP in the Super League phase. KKR will look forward to tapping into his experience as he gets ready to don the Purple and Gold for the first time this season.
