As they normally say in cricket, left-handed batters are elegance personified, one can definitely say that's the case of Nitish Rana. A fluent middle-order batter with peculiar class & grace to his batting coupled with an impressive power game. Born on December 27, 1993 in Delhi, Nitish has carved out his own niche in the world of cricket and has made a name for himself by being one of the most reliable cricketers for any side he represents.
Nitish started his career by representing Delhi in the domestic circuit from 2013. He got into his work in the domestic circuit and grinded hard for years at the domestic level. Nitish also added off-spin bowling to his repertoire and developed himself into a mighty effective batting all-rounder. His consistent performances led to him being picked up at the IPL. After a couple of years of great performances, Nitish was picked by KKR in 2018 and since then he has grown into becoming one of the most important players in the KKR setup.
Through the years, Nitish played many roles for KKR. Be it opening, batting in the middle order, bowling tough overs and picking wickets, Rana stepped up to every role given to him. Nitish, also had the opportunity to captain the KKR side in 2023 after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the season. He took the challenge heads on and stepped up as a leader for the Knight Riders. He was also able to gain a substantial amount of experience which helped him take his game to the next level.
Nitish will now move into the upcoming season of IPL as KKR's Vice-Captain and will play a pivotal role in assisting Skipper Shreyas and forming a strong leadership group alongside Iyer, Gambhir and head coach Chandrakant Pandit. There will also be a lot of responsibility on Nitish the batter and he will be looking to step up to the occasion as he always has throughout his career.
