Nikhil Naik is a dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman from Maharashtra. KKR picked him in 2019 but released him ahead of the 2020 auction. In the bidding, however, the management bought him back.
He has led his Under-16 and Under-19 state sides from the front to fetch national titles. Nikhil made his List-A debut for Maharashtra when he was just 19. He grabbed everyone’s attention in the 2014 Vijay Hazare Trophy where he scored 234 runs in 4 matches with an average of 58.50.
He was earlier a part of Kings XI Punjab, where he made his debut against Sunrisers in 2018. Nikhil has been pretty aggressive with his batting, the proof of which could be seen in his 58-ball unbeaten 95 against Railways in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
