Lockie Ferguson and raw pace go hand-in-hand. The 29-year-old Kiwi made a lot of headlines for his brilliant performance in the World Cup last year after he took 17 wickets in 7 matches and finished as one of the leading wicket-takers of the tournament. He took wickets in each match, with his best performance (4/37) coming against Afghanistan.
The speedster was picked up in the 2019 IPL auction by KKR for Rs 1.6 crore and has been retained for this season as well.
The Kiwi pacer has been hitting the 150kph mark regularly. Even though he has not played a lot of IPL matches yet, Lockie’s raw pace and his World Cup exploits certainly make him as one of the strongest names in the KKR bowling artillery.
Lockie played for Auckland in his first two first-class seasons (2014-16), where he picked up impressive season hauls of 21 wickets and 31 wickets respectively. He got a national call in the ODIs against Australia in December 2016.
