One of the stars of India’s U-19 winning campaign in the 2018 World Cup, Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been with KKR since 2018 but hasn’t debuted yet. The 20-year-old missed out both seasons due to injuries. KKR CEO Venky Mysore has high expectations from the quickie who has been clocking 145 KMPH easily.
"One guy we are totally looking forward to seeing in action is Kamlesh Nagarkoti," Mysore said. "He is an unbelievable young kid, a fantastic kid, I literally feel like he is one of my kids - he's that age, and he has that same emotion towards me, I think,” said the CEO a few days ago.
Nagarkoti, barring the injuries, is known for his athleticism. He is lightning fast in the field and also oozes confidence as a lower-order batsman. The pacer, who made his List A debut for Rajasthan in 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy, even has an unbeaten fifty to his name. He also claimed a hat-trick in the tournament against Gujarat. Nagarkoti scalped 14 wickets while playing in two youth Tests against England Under-19 and also shone with 9 wickets in India’s U-19 World Cup campaign.
