It's been a couple of days since a record-breaking unbeaten 104-run partnership between Sneh Rana and Taniya Bhatia scripted India's incredible comeback in the drawn one-off Test against England at the County Ground in Bristol.

In a press conference, Sneh and her teammate, Deepti Sharma, who also contributed with a fifty in the match saving efforts, opened up about their experience in the middle.

Sneh, en route to her match-defining innings of unbeaten 80, became the first Indian player to pick up four wickets in an innings and score 50-plus runs on debut in a women's Test match.

Sitting next to Deepti, the 27-year-old reflected on her partnership with Taniya and said, "We communicated really well in the middle and focused on our game rather than thinking about what they are saying to us and backed each other to get the job done, " she said.

With wickets of Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur tumbling post-lunch, Sneh also stitched a crucial 41-run partnership with Shikha Pandey. "We were not nervous about the situation, and we focused on our basics. They were sledging us a bit, but we made sure that we stuck to our basics and got the result we wanted," she said.

Deepti, on the other hand, was promoted to No. 3 after an unbeaten 29 in the first innings and the move proved to be a masterstroke as the left-handed batter notched up her half-century (54) off 168 balls to lay a solid foundation for the team.

Reflecting on her innings, the Deepti said, " When I was batting in the first innings, the idea was to play close to the body, and I was slowly getting a lot of confidence. So in the second innings, when I was asked to bat one down, my idea was to play session by session, follow the messages coming from the team and bat accordingly."

The success of these two debutants does not come as a surprise as they have been two of the consistent performers in the domestic circuit.

This Test match also marked the return of Rana to the Indian side after a gap of five long years. Overcoming a personal tragedy of losing her father days before the team was announced, she guided the team to safety with a crucial knock of unbeaten 80.

"I was not focused on the century because the team needed me the most, and it was vital for me to bat for a long time. I kept it very simple as I played on the merit of the ball and contributed to my team. It is a very special feeling when you contribute to the team, " she concluded.
