Lockie Ferguson has been known for his effective yorkers and seething pace. His spells in the IPL have often mesmerised us and it’s no surprise for the KKR family that the talented Kiwi speedster won the ESPN Cricinfo Award for the best Men’s T20I Bowling Performance of 2020 for his brilliant 5/21 against the Windies during the first T20I in Auckland last November.

Windies were cruising at 55-0 in 3 overs when Lockie got the ball. Windies openers Andre Fletcher and Brandon King looked in their furious best. But the fury didn’t last long as Lockie cleaned up Fletcher first with his beastly pace and then picked up the danger Shimron Hetmyer in the same over.

He also went on to pick Nicholas Pooran to end his first spell for 3-8 (3 overs). Following this, even though Kieron Pollard and Fabian Allen hit back with a strong partnership, Lockie returned in the 14th over to dismiss Allen and Keemo Paul in the same over to seal his fifer.

Lockie became only the second Kiwi bowler, after Tim Southee (5-18 vs Pakistan, 2010), to have picked up five wickets in a men's T20I match.

KKR can’t wait to welcome the fiery pacer for the 14th edition of IPL to see more of his poetry in motion! Here is a glimpse of his performance in the series that fetched him the award.
