Ishant Sharma became the 6th Indian to join the 300-wicket Club in Tests when he picked up England’s Dan Lawrence. Ishant, who recently recovered from an injury that he had sustained during IPL 2020, has been in good form and looked impressive in the ongoing first Test.
Even though he wasn’t given many overs to bowl in the Chennai Test (34 overs in 2 innings), possibly to keep him safe from straining his muscles, the lanky fast bowler showed signs of his genius with whatever little time he got with the ball.

Ishant took 98 Tests to achieve the feat. In the first innings he had picked up two wickets – those of Jos Buttler and Jofra Archer.
