Varun Chakaravarthy has been included in the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, as announced by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday. BCCI also announced that former India skipper MS Dhoni would be mentoring the team for the tournament.

The World Cup will take place in the UAE and Oman involving 4 venues — Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

The high-voltage tournament will begin on 17th October with hosts Oman taking on Papua New Guinea. The top two teams from the qualifiers will proceed for the Super 12, which will commence from October 23rd in Abu Dhabi with a Group 1 encounter between Australia and South Africa.

India will start their campaign with a match against Pakistan on 24th October 2021 in Dubai.
