Defending a target of 195 runs, Pat Cummin's fiery opening spell helped the Knight Riders create inroads in the formidable batting unit of the Delhi Capitals, en route to our 59-run win at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi in IPL 2020. His figures of 3/17 in four overs jolted the opposition during the field restrictions.

The match also witnessed a maiden five-wicket haul by Varun Chakaravarthy and twin half-centuries from Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine.

The Delhi outfit was rattled off the first delivery in the run chase as Cummins picked up the prized scalp of Ajinkya Rahane, who was adjudged plumb in front. The Australian fast bowler followed it up with the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan in the powerplay. He also came back to pick Kagiso Rabada's wicket in the death overs.

In a high-scoring run chase, the Capitals failed to recover from quick wickets and were reeling at 13 for 2 in the first couple of overs. With the pressure of the scoring rate and the variations showcased by Cummins and Varun, they lost a flurry of wickets and fell short by a huge margin.
