Ishant Sharma got the prized wicket of Kane Williamson and returned figures of 3/48 on Tuesday to help India restrict NZ to 249.
During the ongoing World Test Championship final, he became the fourth Indian to join the club of 200+ wickets in away Tests. The other three names to have a similar milestone include the likes of Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble and Zaheer Khan.
Here we will look back at the 200+ milestone moments from our four charismatic Indian bowlers.
Ishant Sharma (2021): Ishant became the latest Indian player to have achieved this feat when he picked up Devon Conway during New Zealand's first innings in the World Test Championship final. During the course of the innings, Ishant also became the highest wicket-taker in England, peeping Kapil Dev, with 44 scalps. Ishant now has 202 wickets in 61 away Test matches. He has completed fifers nine times and took a 10-wicket haul once bowling outside India. His best bowling figures in an innings remains 7/74 while in a match it's 10/108.

Zaheer Khan (2014): One of India's prominent pacers, Zaheer Khan completed this feat in 2014 against New Zealand at Auckland after dismissing Kane Williamson. He has 207 wickets in 54 away Test matches at an average of 31.47. Zaheer's fierce pace and swing has made him one of the iconic bowlers in the 21st century. The left-hand pacer has the best away figures of 7/87 in an innings and 10/149 in a match. He has eight five-wicket hauls under his belt and one 10-wicket haul in a match as well.
Anil Kumble (2006): Legendary spinner Anil Kumble has the highest number of away Test wickets at 269. Kumble got into the 200+ club dismissing Shivnarine Chanderpaul of West Indies way back in 2006 at St Kitts. Kumble played 69 away matches to end up with 269 wickets, averaging 35.85. For a spinner to take these many wickets on foreign soil, which is mostly known to be pace-friendly, is a remarkable achievement. Kumble's best bowling innings (8/141) came against Australia in 2004. He has bagged 10 fifers in an innings and one 10-wicket haul in a match.

Kapil Dev (1992): India's legendary all-rounder, Kapil Dev reached the 200-wicket mark in away Tests against Zimbabwe in 1992 at Harare. Alistair Campbell became his 200th scalp. With 215 wickets from 66 matches, Kapil Dev has the second highest number of away Test wickets among Indians. Averaging at 32.85, he has 12 five-wicket hauls in an innings, with his best of 8/85 coming against Pakistan in 1983.
