Skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first, with pitch conditions looking quite ideal to chase. Pakistani openers started well, and continued to score at a healthy strike-rate. However India made a strong comeback as Siraj & Pandya sent back both the openers. Despite losing quick wickets, Pakistan were still able to regroup with Rizwan & Babar forging a good partnership. But, it was Siraj yet again who came back to break their partnership, knocking over the opposition skipper with a brilliant delivery. That breakthrough transpired a monumental collapse as Pakistan went from 155 for 2 to 191 all out. They lost 8 wickets for 36 runs as Kuldeep, Bumrah & Siraj ripped through their middle order.

With a modest target of 192 in their sights, the Team India openers came out all guns blazing. Despite losing Gill early, it was Skipper Rohit Sharma who put on an absolute show of impressive hitting and led the chase from the front. Rohit’s 86, paired along with a fifty for Shreyas Iyer, meant India cruised towards the target. Iyer smashed one down the ground to finish things off in style as Team India completed their third consecutive victory in this World Cup & their 8th straight win against Pakistan. India now look forward to their next challenge as they take this winning momentum forward.
