The Junior Knights Championship 2023-24 kickstarted on 29th November in Kolkata at the historic Eden Gardens stadium. The tournament marked its 6th year of empowering the young & upcoming cricketers of West Bengal. The collaborative effort of KKR and CAB created a platform for the youngsters to make their mark. The tournament featured a total of 64 school teams participating in 111 matches across 32 grounds in West Bengal. The 45-over per side format was utilized throughout the league games to provide the cricketers an opportunity to spend extensive amounts of time on the field.
After the hard-fought league stages St John Public School, Nava Nalanda High School, South Point High School and Ratnakar North Point School propelled to the Semi-finals of the tournament. The semi-finals presented a different challenge for the teams as the format changed to 2-day matches with 85 overs per-side. Both the semi-finals turned out to be extremely competitive cricket games with St Johns Public School & Ratnakar North Point School qualifying for the Grand Finale after brilliant all-round performances in their respective games.
The Grand Finale took place on 6th & 7th January 2024 in a 2-day, 85 overs per side format. The Grand Finale possessed a new twist as the finals was played with the Pink Ball in order to make it more interesting. The St Johns Public School went on to win the game in the finale and clinched the Junior Knights Championship. St Johns Public School got their hands on the prestigious trophy and sealed their golden chance to be able to train alongside the KKR coaches and acquire important learnings in the near future. Moreover, there were a few more awards announced for outstanding performers throughout the tournament. The Best Bowler and Man of the Series was awarded to Piyush Karan, whereas the Best Batsman award went to Aman Karwar and Anas Alam was awarded the Man of Match Award for the Finale. Along with that the Junior Knights Championship came to a successful culmination after a brilliant finale.
