We have often heard stories of how young batsmen have approached senior players in the squad for their bats before playing some incredible knocks and something similar played out last night when Rinku Singh approached Skipper Rana for a bat before unleashing an innings for the ages at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The duo who share a great bond off the pitch having donned the purple and gold for the last 5 years, now have a tale they can bring up in social gatherings for decades to come!

Speaking to the Knights media team after the phenomenal win and Rinku’s incredible effort, an elated Rana holding the now famed blade, said “I have been using this bat since the last 4-5 matches of last year’s IPL, used it in this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament and also the first couple of matches in this IPL. Today I changed my bat, and Rinku asked me for one. Someone in the dressing room grabbed my bats and I had a feeling that Rinku would pick this one. This bat has an excellent pickup and is slightly lighter than what my preferred weight is. Now this bat belongs to Rinku, not me. He has rightfully taken it away from me!”, concluded Rana.

In conclusion, Rinku Singh wasn’t using his go to bat at the Narendra Modi Stadium last night, having opted to borrow one from his skipper, a bat which he now intends to keep. We are sure as long as the runs keep flowing and Rinku keeps winning games for KKR, Skipper Rana wouldn’t mind.

May the bat serve you well, Rinku!
