Our inaugural game in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League was indeed a special one as the Knight Riders kick-started the campaign with a clinical 10-run victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

En route to this memorable win, the team recorded a historic feat by winning their 100th IPL match.

After being asked to bat first, the boys in Purple and Gold displaying batting of the highest calibre as Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi forged a crucial 93-run partnership for the second wicket.

While the southpaw displayed an array of strokes as he anchored the KKR innings with a scintillating 80 off 56 balls that included nine boundaries and four maximums, Tripathi too chipped in with a well-compiled 53 off 29 balls.

The 27-year old found an able partner in Tripathi as the duo propelled the team to 187 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Defending the total, Prasidh Krishna's two crucial wickets, including the prized scalp of David Warner, helped us dent the opposition and register a 10-run win in the opening match.
