The cricket frenzy fans at the Eden Gardens witnessed one of the most devastating knocks in the history of the Indian Premier League as Sunil Narine blasted his way to a 17 ball half-century against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2018.

After electing to bowl first, the Knights restricted their opposition to a total of 176 runs in the first innings, courtesy a disciplined performance by the bowling unit.

With a stadium packed to capacity and plenty of fans cheering the home team, Sunil Narine walked in to take centre stage in pursuit of the target.

Displaying an array of strokes, Narine started his innings in a commanding fashion as he smashed a boundary and a massive six off consecutive deliveries to stamp his authority on the opposition bowlers.

The West Indian all-rounder was at his absolute best as he targetted the straight boundaries to score most of his runs.

His brutal half-century in 17 balls was studded with four boundaries and five hits over the fence, giving the Knight Riders a solid platform for the run-chase.

Narine was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance of 50 in 19 balls and one wicket for 30 runs in his four overs spell.
