The flamboyant keeper-batter from Bangladesh, Litton Das landed in Kolkata on Sunday to join the Knights camp to further strengthen a batting line up that is brimming with young talents and experienced stalwarts of the game. This will be Litton’s first outing as an IPL player after KKR snapped him up for his base price of 50 lakhs in the team auction held last year.

Litton is known for taking the game to the bowlers in the powerplay and has made a name for himself in the shortest format of the game. He has played 179 competitive T20 games and scored 4054 runs, featuring 24 half centuries and a strike rate of 128.60

Das has scored a total of 1921 runs in 2022 across formats, becoming the highest scoring player from Bangladesh in a calendar year. His 27-ball 60 against India in the T20 World Cup, which almost saw Bangladesh pull a major upset, was one of the standout innings of the tournament. Litton has scores of 70, 50*, 47and 83 in his last 4 limited over appearances from the ODI & T20 series against Ireland which concluded in March. In the 2nd T20 vs Ireland, Litton brought up his 50 off just 18 balls, which is now the fastest ever 50 by a Bangladeshi batter in international cricket.

His arrival and availability gives Coach Chandrakant Pandit and co. yet another strong option to choose from at the top of the order. Litton also said he expects the fans in Kolkata to give him the same support and love he receives across the border in Bangladesh.
