In their penultimate match of the league phase, the Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad in an evening encounter at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, 3rd October.

After a nail-biting loss to the Punjab Kings by five wickets, the Knight Riders will look to make amends against Sunrisers Hyderabad and inch closer to a spot in the play-offs.

In the Head to Head record, the Knight Riders have won 13 out of their 20 matches played thus far, including a 10-run win in their opening encounter of this edition of the Indian Premier League.

The boys in Purple and Gold have played a fearless brand of cricket in the second phase of the IPL and will look to continue with the same heading into this much-awaited clash.

With the emergence of Venkatesh Iyer and contribution from Rahul Tripathi and Nitish Rana in the middle order, the batting unit looks settled. However, the team will look up to their experienced players in Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan to give much-needed impetus in the final overs of the innings.

While the team missed the services of Andre Russell in the last match, Iyer chipped in with his medium pace in the middle overs. However, the onus of the side in the bowling department will rely heavily on Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy to pick up wickets in the middle overs and dent the opposition batting unit.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad have struggled to get going in this edition of the tournament and are at the bottom of the table with two wins in 11 matches.

The performance of the batting unit has been one of the significant causes of concern for the Sunrises. While the inclusion of Jason Roy has helped them to a certain extent, the inexperienced middle order is an aspect to ponder for the team management.

In the second phase of the tournament, Jason Holder has produced all-around performances by picking up crucial wickets and scoring quick runs down the order and the team will rely on his experience to get over the line.
