Our last game of the league stage will see the Knights battle it out against the Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens. A victory tonight will in all probablility secure us a Top 2 finish. Ahead of the game, let us take a look at the numbers to watch out for.
3K awaits GG: Gautam Gambhir has been in red-hot form in this year’s IPL and leads the list of most runs scored by a KKR batsman. He also needs 30 runs to reach the mark of 3000 runs for KKR in IPLs, the first captain to do so for a single franchise.
Couple of milestones await Robin: Having scored 384 runs in 10 innings, Robin Uthappa will look to finish the league stages on a high. He needs 57 to reach the mark of 5500 runs in T20s and when it comes to facing the Mumbai Indians, Uthappa requires 63 runs to complete 500 runs in IPL.
Kuldeep nearing a half-century: Knight, Kuldeep Yadav needs just two to complete 50 wickets in T20s. With 11 wickets so far, the chinaman has impressed one and all & would look to continue his good run in IPL 2017.
One away from hundred: Our speedster, Nathan Coulter-Nile is just 1 wicket away from registering 100 wickets in T20 cricket. Having missed the last couple of matches, the Aussie would look to get past this feat if he is in the playing eleven tonight.
Now let us go through the head-to-heads between the two sides:
Rohit’s and Pollard’s nemesis is here: Sunil Narine has a good record and has got the better off MI captain, Rohit Sharma 6 times in 13 T20 nnings. Narine also has a good record against Kieron Pollard, dismissing him on 3 occasions in T20 cricket.
Three cheers for Yusuf bhai: Yusuf Pathan loves to roll his arm over and he certainly enjoys bowling to Parthiv Patel. In the 5 innings played, our Knight has removed the wicketkeeper-batsman 3 times.
KKR vs MI is always an exciting contest and we can’t wait for another one at Eden!
