KKR had a dream start to Vivo IPL 2019, winning four out of the first five games. With momentum and confidence on their side, it seemed like a comfortable path to get into the top 4. But, what followed later was a surprise to everyone, KKR lost five games in a row which included three at Eden Gardens.
Five losses in a row is hard to digest. Be it for skipper Dinesh Karthik, coach, support staff or thousands of hard core KKR fans. It is tough on everyone to see the team losing especially after the brilliant start.
Here are three reasons why we believe our Knights have still got this:
Win all four and march into the playoff
There are still four games to go and with three wins, we will be in contention for the playoffs with 14 points in the bag. While winning all four games will seal the deal for KKR.
KKR is known for comebacks
Losing five in a row is disheartening, but seeing the history, our last two instances when our losing streak was of four (in 2012 & 2014), we ended up winning the title. Playing Rajasthan Royal at Eden Gardens can just be the beginning of storm that we all are waiting for.
Role of RCB & RR
Virat Kohli led RCB have won three out of their last four games. RR, on the other hand, won two in the last four. Last night's SRH loss to CSK held them with five wins. The second and third spot is up for grabs and it can be anyone's to take with all teams making a late charge.
Last two weeks have been tough for KKR, but it's in the past now. It’s time for us to regroup, take one match at a time, and go hard against Rajasthan Royals on April 25 at Eden Gardens.
