As part of our continuous efforts towards making the planet greener with the "Plant a 6" initiative, KKR has decided to plant 209 saplings in Kolkata this year once again. Juhi Chawla Mehta, KKR's co-owner, made the announcement on Wednesday, April 22 to observe Earth Day 2020.

With the Corona virus outbreak sending ripples across the globe, confining us to our homes to help heal the world together, we urge everyone to take a moment to thank mother nature, and pledge to be more responsible in making it a better place for each of us.

KKR's co-owner Juhi Chawla Mehta said:

"Each year, we plant a sapling for every six and wicket taken at Eden Gardens during the IPL. We call this the Plant a 6 campaign.

"This year of course, for the safety of our people, the IPL has been postponed indefinitely. But a break in Cricket doesn't mean we take a break in our efforts to give back to mother nature.

"We will plant the same number of saplings as we did last year in Kolkata, and we urge you all to do your bit for our planet, and say thank you to mother nature, once we come out of these difficult times."

Venky Mysore, our CEO and MD, added:

"The Plant a 6 initiative is our way of acknowledging the dire need of protecting our planet, and making it a better place for all of us. We went from planting 73 saplings in 2017, to 100 in 2018 and as many as 209 last year.

We believe this has motivated many others to come forward and do their bit towards making this a grand success. We have always stood by our motto Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo, and once we get over this tricky phase we are going through, we pledge to keep up with this noble effort."
