Pat Cummins and Eoin Morgan return to the Kolkata Knight Riders set-up as we add more muscles to our rank for the 2020 Indian Premier League. With nine new players from the IPL 2020 auction, our squad is now 23 Knights stronger.

The Australian speedster, Pat Cummins became the most expensive foreign player in the history of IPL. Starting at a base price of 2 crore, Pat Cummins soon set the floor on fire. Initially, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals were in a bidding war to get the Australian but KKR sealed the deal with their highest bid of INR 15.5 crore.

Speaking to the media during the IPL Auction break, our CEO Venky Mysore assured team's interest in the Australian speedster. "We were certainly interested in him. It was a key player bid for us that we were targeting. We were determined to get him. So, when we got the first opportunity, we came in."

There were plenty of talks among our fans to get England's limited over skipper, Eoin Morgan. Well, the franchise too had a plan for him and successfully bought the World Cup winning captain for INR 5.25 Crore.

Our head coach, Brendon McCullum was excited to have the service of Eoin Morgan. "We are really pleased to get him. He's in the form of his life. Over the last couple of years, he has played really freely. He's going to be a fine asset coming back to Kolkata."

Chris Green and Tom Banton completed our overseas quota of eight players. Rahul Tripathi, Varun Chakravarthy, M Siddharth, Pravin Tambe and Nikhil Naik were the additional Indian players.
