Catches win matches! And looking at the fielding standards during this year’s VIVO IPL 2018, one can only imagine how modern day cricket has evolved on the back of the players' athleticism and presence of mind. This IPL, our Knights not just had a great run with the bat and ball, but they were also on their toes when it came to stopping the runs and grabbing on to those catches.
Here are FIVE of those efforts that set the bar high.
Air-borne Rinku Singh
Whether he’s in the playing XI or not, you just can’t keep Rinku out of the game. Against SRH in our last league game, he took a blinder while playing as a substitute and won the perfect catch of the match award.
Piyush Chawla's one-handed blinder off his own bowling
Piyush Chawla might not be the first name that comes to mind when you're thinking of top fielders in the KKR side, but his quick reflexes ensured he grabbed on to one of the best caught and bowled dismissals in this IPL. He scalped the wicket of Rahul Tripathi with a one-handed stunner off his own bowling after RR had a flying start in the Eliminator.
Prasidh special near the ropes
Two words to describe Prasidh Krishna’s brilliant catch to dismiss Karun Nair: JUST WOW! Marcus Stonis’ reaction in the background says it all.
Russell making it look easy
Running backward and holding on to a skier needs some special effort from even a special player. Andre didn’t let one of those go against RCB on the last ball of their innings to dismiss Chris Woakes at Eden Gardens.
Robin Uthappa’s pure judgement
It took a calm effort to end an innings of pure class when KKR met MI. Sunil Narine ended a special innings from Ishan Kishan, thanks to a well-judged catch taken by Robin Uthappa at the covers boundary.
