Shubman Gill trended at No. 1 on Twitter today. And why should he not? His maiden Test 50 is the talk of two countries now and he deserves every bit of it.

Our Knight in shining armour has impressed everyone alike with his temperament and mature stroke play in both the Boxing Day Test as well as in the Sydney Test so far. Besides lighting up the commentary box quite often, Shubman lit up the mood of KKR vice captain Dinesh Karthik too.

Karthik took to Instagram to post Shubman's photo, congratulating him on the half-century. He could also be seen asking the youngster not to go too hard on himself for the dismissal today.

While Shubman replied with a courteous thank you to his teammate, the comment section of the post soon started buzzing after Shikhar Dhawan had left a quirky question for Karthik. What followed hereafter was a jovial banter.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, who had more than just a fine day in the business today at the SCG, spoke highly of Shubman in the post-match conference. Talking to the media, Jadeja said, "I think technically he is very sound and he has the temperament to play a long innings. We got a good start today with Shubman and Rohit getting a 70-run partnership. I hope he comes good in the second innings too."
