It’s been pouring incessantly at the Hampshire Bowl and the possibility of forcing a result out of the World Test Championship Final grows fainter with every passing hour.

Talking about the weather conditions and its impact on the game, India opener Shubman Gill said, “I think both the teams will obviously try to have a result out of this match, but if the conditions don't go our way, then there isn't much that both teams can do.”

India ended Day 3 with a late wicket of Devon Conway which left New Zealand (101/2) with two new batsmen – Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor – at the crease before stumps.

Gill felt had bad light not interrupted and India been lucky enough to bowl a few more overs, the scoreboard might have a looked a lot different.

“It (Conway’s wicket) was a crucial wicket for us. I feel if we would have been able to bowl a couple of more overs to Ross Taylor, who was a new batsman for us, we might have gotten a couple more wickets. But as you said, when the play starts, we'll have a slight edge on them because both of them are relatively new on the crease,” Gill observed.
