Shubman Gill once again let his bat do the talking as India A beat West Indies A in the fifth unofficial ODI by eight wickets to wrap up the series 4-1.

It was the 19-year old's third half-century on the trot as he continues to make a point for himself. He also earned the player of the series award for his 218 runs in four innings.

Chasing a small target of 237 runs, Shubman and his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad gave India A a solid start. The two added 110 runs in just 11.3 overs before Shubman got out after smashing a quickfire 69 off just 40 balls.

The Indian team for the West Indies tour was announced yesterday. While Shubman Gill couldn't find a place in any of the squads, he continues to knock on the selectors’ doors with his fine performances.

Speaking on Shubman Gill during the press conference, the current chairman of the selection committee MSK Prasad said, "Shubman Gill went to the New Zealand tour when KL Rahul was suspended. Now, KL Rahul has come back, so Shubman is in the waiting list. He'll definitely be considered in the future."
