It promises to be a super Sunday as the Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in an afternoon encounter at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The two teams are coming into this clash after experiencing slightly contrasting starts in this edition of the Indian Premier League.

After a clinical performance in the first game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the boys in Purple and Gold were well and truly on course for winning their second game against the Mumbai Indians. However, tables turned at the fag end and KKR failed to cross over the line. On the other hand, Virat Kohli's men have won both their games - against Mumbai and Hyderabad respectively - and currently top the points table.

For KKR, losing the match against Mumbai was a matter of disappointment. From cruising towards the target in the first half of the run chase, the Knights succumbed to some brilliant bowling in the death by the defending champions.

But despite things not going in their favour, the Knights look settled, with most of their bases covered. The batting unit at the top looks in sublime form, with Nitish Rana scoring two back to back half-centuries. Even Shubman Gill looked in good touch en route to his 33 against Mumbai.

The middle order looked a little rusty but the Knights can be at their destructive best if their international stars in Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell regain their touch and consolidate well.

With Andre Russell recording the best figures of five for 15 in the last game, the bowling attack looks potent to scalp 10 wickets. His batting figures against RCB have been phenomenal in the past too. He has scored 339 runs against the Men in Red in 10 matches at a strike rate of 223!

For RCB, they have done exceedingly well in the bowling department so far. While their batting unit looks formidable with the likes of Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell in prime form, it was the bowlers who helped the team defend a fighting score (149) against the Sunrisers.

The two teams head into this game with KKR having a slightly better record of winning 14 games in 26 matches played so far.
