Knight Riders, even as you still savour that extraordinary victory over RCB at Eden Gardens, we give you 5 special reasons to look forward to our game tonight against Rising Pune Supergiant.

A historic ‘double’ century: Gautam Gambhir has been a captain par excellence for us and today is a special occasion for him! GG, who joined the team in 2011, will be playing his 100th IPL game in a KKR jersey. The man, who has led the side admirably for 7 years, will also be making his 100th appearance as our skipper in an IPL game when he walks out for the toss tonight. Gambhir will thus become only the second player after MS Dhoni in IPL history to lead his side in a minimum of 100 games. It’s indeed a historic double ton for our skipper.

Gunning for a Super Six: Connect with the number 100 does not end with Gambhir. Our Knights have a 100 percent success rate at the MCA stadium in Pune, emerging victorious in all 5 encounters played at this venue. Can we make it a Super Six tonight?

‘Give me that boundary’: Chris Woakes is just four wickets short of completing 100 T20 wickets. A repeat show of that special night at Eden Gardens 3 days ago and our English Knight may well have 100 reasons to celebrate tonight.

The ‘Super 5’ Punch: Our batsmen have been in terrific form from the beginning of this IPL and have been pivotal to our success so far. It’s hardly a surprise then that our top 5 batters have scored a combined 1038 out of the total team runs of 1124 from 7 innings. Their contribution percentage of 92.4, is the highest amongst the top 5 batsmen (as compared to total team runs) from all teams in this year’s IPL.

34 in a pack: KKR has been a team that has built up its legacy around spinners. However it’s been a different story this season with our pacers hunting in a pack. The 34 wickets taken by the likes of Woakes, Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter Nile, Umesh Yadav and others is the highest number of scalps by speedsters from any team this season.

A lot to look forward to tonight as our captain completes a historic double ton!
