KKR Stats Corner: KKR’s 100 to Dre Russ’ & Narine’s 50
Delhi Capitals are in Kolkata and face Kolkata Knight Riders in the reverse fixture of Vivo IPL 2019.
After a super over win in the first clash against the Knights in Delhi, the stakes are high for this one as well and we expect nothing less than another thrilling encounter tonight at Eden Gardens.
Ahead of tonight's clash, let's take a look at some stats that both sides will be looking at to assure a smooth ride to the playoffs.
A century of wins for KKR
A win against Delhi Capitals will be KKR’s 100th win in T20s. We'll become only the third team from India after Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings to cross 100-win mark. Overall, we are sixth in terms of number of wins.
Russell with the ball
Dre Russ is in the form of his life. It's evident that the Jamaican has spared no bowler this season. While DK will heavily rely on him to score big once again, his record against DC batters is worth mentioning.
In T20s, Andre Russell has dismissed Chris Morris twice and Colin Ingram thrice in four meetings. Even DC skipper Shreyas Iyer felt the heat of Dre Russ who has scalped him four times in seven meetings
Kuldeep vs Pant
Kuldeep's last two overs in Delhi almost turned the game in our favour. The Chinaman is not having one of the best seasons especially during middle (7-15) overs where he has bowled 18 overs but has gone wicketless. In IPLs Kuldeep has been dismissed Pant twice in three matches and DK won't mind using him again tonight.
Narine’s half-century at Eden Gardens
Another scalp for Sunil Narine will take his wicket tally at Eden Gardens to 50. He has the most number of wickets (115) for KKR well ahead of Piyush Chawla (68). Even Andre Russell (48) will look to complete his half-century of wickets for KKR in IPL.
No bowlers in top 20
Despite a good run with the ball in last two low-scoring matches, DK will expect more from his bowlers against DC tonight.
In terms of number of wickets in Vivo IPL 2019, not a single KKR bowler features in the top 20 list. Dre Russ, who didn't bowl against RR and CSK is still our highest wicket-taker with five wickets.
