WTC Final, Day 3 Highlights: NZ Enjoy heyday after Jamieson fifer cracks India open

New Zealand dominated Day 3 thoroughly as they ended the proceedings on 101/2, trailing India by 116 runs, in the World Test Championship Final at Southampton on Sunday. Kane Williamson (12*) and Ross Taylor (0*) were unbeaten at stumps.

Devon Conway departed just before closure, but not before handing a clear upper hand to the BlackCaps with a fluent 54. Ishant Sharma accounted for Conway while Ravichandran Ashwin got the first breakthrough for India in form of Tom Latham (30).

Kyle Jamison was the talk of the town for his brilliant 5/31 that reduced India to 217. The Indian batsmen had very few answers to Jamieson's swing and bounce.

Starting on an overnight score of 146/3, Indian batters lost the plot completely as the Kiwi bowlers kept a nagging line and length to frustrate their opposition.

Skipper Virat Kohli (44) didn't add on to his overnight score and was the first to fall today to a beauty from Jamieson. Kohli was trapped leg before and even though he challenged the decision with a review, the decision went in New Zealand's favour.

Rishabh Pant (4) played against his instincts for a while, taking his own time to get off the mark, but once he did start with a boundary, he lost his patience and ended up swinging at a wider delivery, only to nick it to Tom Latham at slip.

Watch some of the dismissals from Day 3:

Rahane's dismissal was heart-breaking. The vice-captain fell short of his fifty by just one run as Neil Wagner unsettled him with a short ball.

India kept losing wickets at regular intervals and the runs dried up. Ravichandran Ashwin played a crucial cameo of 27-ball 22, giving some impetus but once he was dismissed, it was just a matter of time before India collapsed.
