Watch: Four individual double hundreds en route to WTC Final - A feat that only India have!

Four days from now, India and New Zealand will feature in an iconic final of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

The Indian team has been in sublime form in the longest format of the game, winning 12 out of the 17 Test matches in the league.

En route to the summit clash, India became the only team to have produced four individual double centuries in the tournament.

Mayank Agarwal's 215 vs South Africa

Mayank Agarwal produced a masterclass in the first Test match of the series against South Africa at Vishakhapatnam. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the fans were treated to a batting display of the highest calibre as Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal forged a 317-run opening partnership. The Karnataka born player scored 215 runs off 371 balls to lay a solid foundation for the Indian team to declare at 502 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Virat Kohli's 254 vs South Africa

The second Test match against South Africa in Pune witnessed a remarkable innings from one of the greatest batsman in the modern era, Virat Kohli. The skipper of the Indian side scored an unbeaten 254 runs to guide the team to a mammoth first innings total of 601 runs (declared). With 33 boundaries and two maximum hits in his historic double hundred, Kohli enthralled millions of fans all across the world.

Rohit Sharma's 212 vs South Africa

The home series against South Africa witnessed Rohit Sharma's rise as a Test Opener. One of the stalwarts in the white-ball format, Rohit Sharma's performance in the World Test Championship has been the primary reason for the Indian team piling up massive totals in the first innings.

On a sluggish wicket at Ranchi, Rohit showcased his class and guided the team out of a challenging situation. After struggling at 39 for three in the first session of the day, his 212 off 255 balls propelled the home side to declare at 497 runs.

 

Mayank Agarwal's 243 vs Bangladesh

Mayank Agarwal made optimum use of the conducive batting conditions to register his highest ever Test score of 243 runs against Bangladesh at the Holkar Stadium.
