Sunil Narine needs no introduction to #KnightRiders, having been an integral part of the family since 2012 and playing a major role in both our IPL triumphs in 2012 & 2014. Narine took IPL 2012 by storm as he was named the ‘Player of the Tournament’ for taking 24 wickets at an economy rate of 5.47.
Over his career with KKR, he has taken 95 wickets from 82 matches. His economy rate of 6.32 hasn’t been bettered by any other bowler in the history of this tournament.
In the last edition of Vivo IPL, Narine made heads turn with some dominating performances with the bat at top of the order. He scored 224 runs at a strike-rate of 172.30. From being a mystery bowler to transforming into a demolishing batsman, our new ‘all-rounder’ has overcome every challenge with aplomb. 1. Fastest IPL Fifty vs RCB (IPL 2016) – 54 off 17
Sunil Narine was on-song against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chinnaswamy as he raced away to a 15-ball 50, equalling the joint-fastest in the history of IPL. His powerful knock included 6 fours & 4 sixes along with an unbelievable strike-rate of 317.64. Watch his record-breaking knock here
2. Hat-trick vs KXIP (IPL 2013)
Narine claimed KKR’s first ever hat-trick in the IPL when he put a web around the Kings XI Punjab batsmen with his mystery deliveries. He dismissed David Hussey, Azhar Mahmood & Gurkeerat Singh in successive deliveries. Although, KXIP won a thrilling match by 4 runs, Narine was applauded for his effort. Enjoy his hat-trick here
3. 5-wicket haul vs KXIP (IPL 2012)
4 overs, 14 dot balls, 19 runs & 5 wickets! Sunil Narine was unplayable as the KXIP batmen struggled to get him away as he scalped a 5-wicket haul in his first ever game at Eden Gardens.
