Hooglee is a Royal Bengal Tiger who grew up in the urban jungle of Kolkata. As a young cub exploring the wilds, the roars from a nearby structure had him wandering onto a turf of emerald green. It was his first glimpse of the game of cricket, which he promplty fell in love with. Eden Gardens became home with three things guaranteed - great cricket, great food, and someone to scratch his back when he wanted it the most.
With his lightning wit and lively antics Hooglee was the perfect mascot for the
Kolkata Knight Riders, lending a lighter ambience to the fierceness of the game. The only problem being finding ways to to lure him out of his hammock which he insists
is the bedrock of his zany witticisms, though the mention of Sourav Ganguly, Chinese Samosas and cute cheerleaders does seem to do the trick.
Hooglee, a strict vegetarian (though he makes allowances for hilsa), loves humour, cricket, his bed, the colour gold and Kolkata.
