IPL Auction

With IPL 10 starting from 5th April, the IPL Auction was held on 20th February 2017 in Bengaluru. After letting go various players, we had a relatively busy day at the office as the squad needed few fast bowlers and batsmen as well. To start off the proceedings, we grabbed Kiwi pacer, Trent Boult to add firepower to our bowling attack. The left-arm pacer is excellent in bowling yorkers and pretty good in the opening overs as well. Great addition in the fast bowling department!

All-rounders play a very vital role in T20 cricket and after losing Andre Russell, we were in search of one. The search ended as we picked England bowling all-rounder, Chris Woakes. Woakes has been pretty impressive in his international career so far and we were more than delighted to acquire the services of Woakes.

Talking of all-rounders, we grabbed another one. Himachal Pradesh's Rishi Dhawan was added to the squad. Having represented India last year, the medium pacer would be eager to make an impression in the coming season.

Since we have a bunch of impressive spinners in the bowling line-up, we wanted few pacemen and Nathan Coulter-Nile was the perfect choice. The Australian pacer has pace and extracts bounce because of his height which can be very useful on some tracks. To add more West Indian flavour to the squad, we got Rovman Powell, who is also called as 'junior Andre Russell'. The Jamaican can hit the long ball and bowls quickly as well.

Moving on from fast bowlers, then we acquired Indian Ishank Jaggi, who was in great form in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The Jharkhand batsman has been in the domestic circuit for a good time now and it was a perfect timing of including him in the squad. Darren Bravo was added in the squad to add more batting depth. We added R. Sanjay Yadav and Bengal's Sayan Ghosh to complete our squad for 2017. The team looks strong and is ready to #KorboLorboJeetbo in IPL 10.
